WLED Random Turn On

Please share your wiring diagram for the power supply, ESP8266, and LED lights.

Last night, there were no turn ons and uptime for all WLED devices is currently north of 8 hrs.

What I did:
-- Removed all instances if WLED devices from HE and changed all apps to httpGet commands.

-- In WLED app:

  1. checked 'Turn LED on after power up/reset'
  2. checked 'Disable WIFI sleep'

Im still getting resets when the strips are on, so I've put the 8266 and led strip on different terminals on the power supply to see what happens.

Thanks to all for your help.

UPDATE: The separation of the strips and 8266 didnt help. So, is it either the power supply or the 8266? With all acting the same way, its befuddling.

UPDATE 2: Just installed a brand new Esp32 Vroom board. Monitoring.

First off, thanks you to eveyone who worked with me to help solve this problem.....you all are fantastic.

I believe the esp8266 was the issue, as the esp32 Vroom board is functioning perfectly. So far, 5 hrs uptime. If there's no probs overnight, I will mark as solved tomorrow.

Thank you all again!!

UPDATE: 18 hrs uptime for esp32. 8266 were between 8 and 11 hrs. Much better performance. Will probably switch over to all esp32. Just read that WLED is no longer supporting 8266 and moving all new SoundReactive development based on esp32.

Thanks again.

Just a point of Note. Power your ESP32 via the 5V pin rather than the USB port. Some ESP boards have a diabolical WIFI range when using the USB port. Strange but true! Check this out ESP32 Terrible WiFi Range

Will do. I was doing that with the esp8266s already. So far the 2 new esp32s have run 2 days ultime.

Thanks

Hiya.

Sorry, been busy.

I have quite a few wled instances running on 8266's (and one on a 32). No issues.

Something funky was going on with my 32 (similar to your issues), and I'm not 100% if it was down to wiring or perhaps I reflashed, I don't recall if it were one or both things which solved.
