Wink relay replacement recommendation

Moving from Wink to Hubitat and it has gone very smoothly. Have run into an issue moving the Wink Relays. Tried the rooting hack that has been suggested and while it does work, it is not allowing me to set up both switches independently which is impractical.

So I am looking to replace them. My question is what would be a good replacement that will work with Hubitat? I would love to stay with touch screens if possible but that might not make economic sense.

It’s not? @josh might have some ideas there. Both relays work on my devices, but you have to issue a custom command from rule machine to turn on/off relay 2.

Are you dead-set on a wall-mounted display?

Edit: I actually modified the Wink Relay driver to use 2 child devices for the switches. I should submit a PR for that.

This is exactly correct! You need to use custom actions in RM to use each of the switches independently.

Not dead set on the wall mount displays. They allow the kids to do some things on the system without giving access over the app.

If you can’t get the dual relays working with custom commands, I’ve had nothing but positive things to say about my Echo Show 5.

Just to clarify a minor detail. In RM4, they're called "Custom Actions".

Custom commands was moved to Button Controllers, but there's no way to use a Custom Command in a Rule that I know off.

Here's what you will be doing:

Create two virtual switches - one for each of the physical relays in the Wink Relay.
Now, you'll create two rules in Rule Machine, each of which will look a little like this:

56%20PM

Here's the explanation for this rule - I have a dual-relay called "Shredder and Fan" that controls a paper-shredder and a floor fan.

I created a virtual switch called "Bedroom Fan". When this virtual switch changes, the rule is triggered. If "Bedroom Fan" turns on, then it turns on the "on2()" relay of "Shredder and Fan". Otherwise, if "Bedroom Fan" turns off, then it turns off the "off2()" relay of "Shredder and Fan".

on1(), on2(), off1(), and off2() are available in Rule Machine as Custom Actions for the device "Shredder and Fan". Here's are a few screen-shots of Rule Machine indicating what that looks like:

02%20PM

Select Custom Action:
23%20PM

Custom Actions available for the dual-relay switch "Shredder and Fan":

I hope this helps a little!

This thread from about a month ago addresses the exact same issue that you are trying to fix.

And my response in that thread has more details than what I posted above.

Thanks —I didn’t know it was an inactive project. I’ll submit a PR.

Thanks. I am about 24 hours into learning Hubitat switching from Wink (like everyone else is). The coding is a little daunting at this point but I was able to get the relay done without blowing anything up.

Will try these changes later on and see if they solve the issue. Thanks again for the help.

I promise you - it gets easier by the day. Within a month I was wondering why I'd waited so long to leave Wink!

I've recently started moving from Wing to Hubitat also. I did a hard reset on my Wink Relay as the 1st step in connecting it to Hubitat. Unfortunately, the device won't boot to the Wink Sign Up Page. From what I've read, the WiFi togel in the Android Operating system may be set to off during the reset, and this keeps The Wink Operating System from booting. I'm so angry right now I feel like returning the Hubitat to pay for part of what I'm having to buy just to get part way to where I was with Wink. There goes another $140 for 2 replacement Z-wave wall switches. I like the relay were it was mounted in the entry way. It was handy to make system changes when coming or going. I don't see anything comparable to replace it with. There's Brillant, that mets the form factor I need, but it's wifi, And $350.

Brilliant are very nice but they are proud of them.

When you say you did the hard reset, which reset did you do? If you put your finger over the sensor and hold the button down, you should be able to get to the android home screen. At that point you can get to the settings and make the changes you need to. Just a thought.

Hi, and thank you. I had already registered the Relay. I held the top button and pressed the bump beneath the display
