WiFi outlet

At night time I power off my door openers with a zwave outlet.

For some reason it's not consistent.

Sometimes the switch responds and sometimes it doesn't.

When it doesn't respond and it's off it's not easy to turn back on since it on the ceiling.

I've swapped the switches out for Zigbee and had similar results.

I have VERY good Wifi on my entire property, I'm thinking about switching to a WiFi switch.

Does anyone know a WiFi Switch that can be controlled off cloud and with hubitat.

Thanks

I have some Shelly devices in 2 location. One for a dimmer controlled by a dashboard and one for a switch controller by a dumb switch. Works well, though the dumb switch will not always be in the right ยซ spot ยป - it acts more like a 3-way switch.

You could install a Kasa outlet, plug, or switch (depending on how you want to control the garage door off). Make sure you get the wattage to support your door.

The KP115 is currently <USD13 on Amazon or (4/USD 44) - just to give an example.

I'll give this a try, thanks

Overall this sounds like a weak mesh issue.

I understand.

It's 15ft away from the hub, you'd think it would consistently work

Not always.... Throw a repeater in the mix and see how it behaves. Can you post a copy of your z-wave details page in it's entirety?

Here you go

Ahh thought you had a C7... Was looking for ghosts. But you need the Silabs software and a stick to check for ghosts on the C5...

I bought a couple C7s but didn't set them up yet.

 The couple of Kasa plugs I have are more reliable than the Zwave or Zigbee ones for me. My Zwave/Zigbee work fine 99% of the time but the Kasa stuff seems to work 100% no issues, as long as the Wifi is working.

My Kasa plugs are the same. I had issues at one point with them re-joining the network when the router was rebooted, but I think that was an issue with overlapping channels for ZigBee and Wifi. That seems to be sorted after I tweaked the channels being used.

I've been super impressed with my KP400's, rock solid and about 25% of the cost re: ZigBee/Z-wave in these parts.

I use a few of the IKEA outlets just because they are cheap (and IKEA isn't very far out of the way). I've never had any issues with those.

I also have one of these that seems to work pretty well.

Neither are Wi-Fi but thought I would add to the list...

3x Kasa outlets arrived today and I got everything setup.

They seem quick to respond and I'm really happy they have local control.

I'll update this in a few weeks

John
