Why has Device Event History been turned off?

I'm sure that it does update the Hub, because I can control the device from the device page - from the device page, to the hub, to the device. However, the lack of any entry in the device history page means that there is a bug somewhere.
As per a previous suggestion, I'm going to soft reset the Hub, just in case there is a database corruption issue.
If that doesn't produce a change, then I will exclude and then re-include that device all over again.
(Then, perhaps, this bug will just go away, until someone else runs into it!)

In summary:

  1. I did a soft reset in the off chance that there was a database corruption; no change (sorry @JasonJoel)
  2. I did an exclude and factory reset. I then did an include.
    The switch (and it's device history) is now working fine. Perhaps it was a bug, perhaps it was a device issue (more than likely!)
    {I've got a replacement ready at hand. I'm warning that device that if it gives me any more trouble, it goes into my Bin of old switches! toute-de-suite!}
    My thanks to everyone who stopped by to give me advice.

Cannot be a device issue.

When you press the button locally, the device always sends a HAIL message.
You can see it in the Zniffer.

If you changed any of the associations previously, that would be a setup issue (user issue).
