From what I understand about the Fabriq line, the unique feature about them (besides looking better than the alexa's) is that unless you physically press a button on the device, it isn't listening to that "wake word".
For some, that's a big deal.
Exactly. The Alexa feature on the Fabric is not very fast, either, so it's something I rarely use. I store local mp3's in the Hubitat's File Manager (audio clips from the video game Portal, mostly, lol) which I send to the Fabriq Riff locally. It's a lot of fun, and I don't have to worry about the Google Nest Mini's listening in or their awful activation chime/connection issues anymore.
