What is the best way to shut down Windows 11 from within Hubitat?

Is there an easy way to shut down a windows machine from within Hubitat (webcore, rule machine, other....)? I have a private network with only a mini pc, hubitat, and a Fire HD tablet connected.

EDIT : Gemini recommends this...

Option 1: The EventGhost + Hubitat Integration (Best for Hubitat)

If you want Hubitat (via webCoRE or Rule Machine) to control the Mini PC directly as a native switch, the community-built PC Controller (EventGhost) integration is the gold standard.

  1. On your Windows 11 Mini PC:

    • Download and install EventGhost (a lightweight automation automation tool for Windows).

    • Install the Hubitat-to-EventGhost plugin. This opens a lightweight local listener on your PC that speaks directly to Hubitat over your LAN.

  2. On Hubitat:

    • Install the PC Controller app/driver package. It will generate a virtual device in Hubitat representing your Windows PC.
  3. In webCoRE:

    • You can now target that device directly in your pistons. Telling the device to turn "Off" or sending a custom event can trigger EventGhost on your Mini PC to execute a local Windows shutdown command instantly.

Gemini is correct that eventghost could do this. Is it still being actively developed?

Seems so...Gemini

Yes, EventGhost is still actively maintained and developed.

While it is a long-standing automation tool for Windows, the open-source project remains alive on GitHub (driven largely by community maintainers like kdschlosser and others). Updates and release candidates—such as the 0.5.0 release cycle—continue to roll out, bringing modern enhancements like improved 64-bit support (e.g., for VLC), bug fixes, and Python updates to keep it compatible with modern versions of Windows.
