I made the decision in January, following a number of weeks of my Hubitat system being down, to forget about habitat as it was not supportable. Despite weeks of trying various suggestions including rolling back my code 6 months, nothing had an effect.
At the time I was experiencing excessive load errors and basically the whole home would become unresponsive, what is worse there was no way to diagnose what was wrong.
So I decided to go for another home automation solution which, surprisingly, I got up and running very quickly (less time than I spent unsuccessfully trying to diagnose my issues). In part this was because all of my devices were connected in a hub and spoke arrangement . Each set of devices were on their own hubs and Hubitat provided the central control. That gave me more flexibility and options. Firstly allowing me to rig up a temporary solution and then to migrate to my permanent solution, which is still a hub and spoke arrangement.
The purpose of this post is to suggest that folks think about their fallback and how they would get their home back up and running should they wake up one morning and nothing works.
