What garage door opener? (Do not pelt me with old wink hubs)

So rebuilding the garage at the new house (it was a carriage house) So I'm installing a brand new garage door and opener and not using an older contact button garage door opener. What would everyone recommend to easily incorporate into hubitat (I do have a myq hub on the old garage but I don't know if I really want to deal with that since it's wifi)

Does that mean the opener doesn't have contacts that when shorted cause it to open/close? If not is there any way to activate it other than the remotes or a radio button? If not you may have to try soldering some wires to one of the remotes or the button so you can use it with a relay. Unless the opener has wifi built in?

@Terk That's why I'm asking what people recommend these days to use with HE. You really can't find older garage door openers with shorted contacts. (security) I'm hoping to avoid soldering but am not averse to it. Just wanna see what's out there first...

Newer Security 2.0+ garage door opener have terminals that only supply power, and cannot be used to control the opener. Therefore even wired buttons communicate wirelessly with the opener (the wiring simply provides power).

For this situation, there's an adapter sold by Garadget, which can be used with the automation mechanism of your choice. Here's the link:

I would recommend using it with this zigbee 3.0 dry-contact relay (Amazon link below), which can be configured to work as a momentary relay (or an inching relay, if you prefer). Works well with Hubitat.

I am still using my myq. There is a user developed app for the myq and it works well. Just download with the package manager.

This may be a good solution. I do have a zooz zen-16 I was going to use with my old garage. So a Chamberlain B203 with that adapter and the zooz zen-16 should do I would think. (I'll also need a tilt sensor) That adapter really allowed me to not strain my brain too much on doing this. Thanx!!! (Do you see anything wrong with my plan?

Yeah I know, just trying to avoid wifi...

Your plan should work just fine.

While this works, I prefer solutions that reduce cloud dependence.

Or a contact sensor with external terminals to which you attach a tilt switch. Tilt switches are cheap (like $10 for 10 on eBay), and I used an old GoControl zwave contact sensor.

I think I have an smartthings one floating around here.

It's the ewelink zigbgee+RF relay without a case. Cheaper at Aliexpress if waiting is not any issue
I found only 2-relay one can come with a case (the one I bought, box has ewelink logo, but case doesn't have either ewelink or tuya). Up to 4-relay in a device they had made.

The best is it also has built-in 433Mhz RF (which is what their old relay works with), you can add other dirt cheap remote buttons (keychains, wall switches, all sort of accessories you like or keypads) without being ripped off from the garage manufacturers.
All my old cars without Homelink (Homelink also supports 433Mhz RF) use the RF remotes, RF wall switches in house and RF keypad at my driveway gate controlling both gate and garage doors.

Bought the 2-relay to be used for my 2-door garage (with tilt sensor for doors) but finally decided to use Zen17 with 2 reed switches for each doors + the old RF setup.
