I'm new to Hubitat ... I just got my hub a couple days ago and have been plugging away at some automation with Motion Lighting and Rule Machine.
I have a couple lighting automatons that are mode dependent and had been scratching my head as to why they didn't work this evening (after they worked last night) and discovered that my mode successfully changed to "away" when I went to work this morning, but didn't switch to a normal time-based mode when I returned (evening in this case). All seems well with my app/geofence setup.
Welcome Scott. Did you app show you as present when you returned home? I set up a pushover notification that announces mode changes and arrivals. I did it for troubleshooting purposes when I set up my modes and presence, but it turned out that I liked knowing how close to home it changes, etc. Or doesn't change. I use life360 for presence and that's what I mainly use, but I do have the hubitat app installed on my phone, but not my husband's. it seems to be just as accurate. I know you're not waiting in front of your forums with breathless anticipation of a solution, but when you get back here, can you post what are you using to set your modes Like @bobbles said, please clarify so that we can get you an answer. There are so many different ways to control modes.

In the meantime ... yes, I'm using Mode Manager app to set modes based on time of day, and also have it set to use my iPhone to determine presence. I have the "use time settings for "Return from Away," enabled.
Geofencing on my Hubitat iPhone app seems to be working as of now (at the office). I'll check as soon as I get home and see what its status indicates.

BTW I use a virtual presence sensor to save having to go into Mode manager to change things. I use rules to set my virtual presence sensor but that is not really relevant for this query.
Same thing is happening tonight ... it switched to Away successfully when I went to work, but failed to switch back when I came home. According to my iPhone app, I'm smack dab in the middle of my geofence area.
