Has anyone tweaked or modded their Echo Speaks? I recognize that ES hasnt been given any love for a while.
I myself customized the app to adjust for new generation devices. Prior to that, I had a few errors that I wanted to deal with - so I sort of rebuilt my ES. That was mostly a success - but the area around zones and grouped multispeakers was always problematic.
For a few years I had a device called WHA. THis got picked up from Alexa devices - WHA is Whole House Audio. Now, Alexa propagates grouped speakers as a device and I've not worked right since. I deleted (yes - "I") the working WHA and its never come back to work since.
I'm wondering if anyone has private fixes or code - I can share my work but I'm not excited about the zone devices work necessary to get this back.

What newer generation of devices did Echo Speaks not work with? I have the latest generation Echo Spot and it works perfectly with ES, without my needing to change anything.
Also, in terms of whole house audio and Echo Speaks, the app has a Zones option that can be used to group Echo devices together. Not sure if you are aware of that. This is what I use for announcements across multiple Echo devices in my house. It works beautifully for me.
I'll give zones a further look. Re your success with echo's, thats great! Me, the icons were not working, the gen 5 with clock didn't work, I wanted the temperature ... I fixed all that sort of stuff. I think I posted some of my change mods around here (or on the other comm board - can't recall). Just looking for others who might want to keep ES spiffy.

I think the OP meant that ES doesn’t work for his specific need with this device. The features of echo speaks seem to work fine on my echo dots with clock (gen 4 and gen 5).
