@chrisbvt you handled that with more civility than I am sure 99% of us on here could have after about 5 posts in. It's clear he has some type of history with Hubitat, he just won't admit it. I have been using Hubitat for the past couple years and I feel safe to say the cause of that history is most likely on that individual. I also run an instance of HA for a few things that Hubitat didn't do at the time which now they do I just simply haven't moved them, but I could if I took the time.
There is zero comparison in the HA and HE community. I am a member of both and I clearly 100% without a doubt say that HE is by far the superior community. The level of people wanting to help you is truly unmatched in the HE community. Without getting in deep I have tried to get help over there and I have found myself with unanswered threads or condescending remarks. So much that I have turned to private messaging members of this community with the few HA questions that I have. Guess what. Not once has any of them failed to respond to me, failed to help me, or judged me if my question was truly dumb. This forum is the true definition of COMMUNITY.
Like you I run all my automation in Hubitat. I prefer rule machine 10 to 1 over the automation engine in HA even with all the improvements they have made. For some reason the way my brain is wired rule machine flows better for me. Isn't that what all this is about anyway? Use what works best for you. This individual didn't seem to understand that even though you repeatedly pointed that out. Also, if he truly has that many integrations and devices I would feel safe to say there is a large portion he doesn't remember what they truly do anyway so he can't say if they are working accurately or not.
Anyway, sorry for the long rant but kudos to the way you handled it.
Yeah, he has owned several Hubitat Hubs based on his post, which he said were all horrible. I wonder if he had a database corruption that he kept migrating to other hubs or something. He claims there is no way he could have three bad hubs, so he has absolutely proved to himself that Hubitat isn't dependable or capable in his mind. He has also convinced himself Hubitat is gong out of business any day now.
As was noted, his mom is still on Hubitat. He also claims to have over 1000 devices on HA with hundreds of integrations. That just does not seem realistic for a single house, but who knows what he is doing with HA.
I just realized his username here matches his Reddit username. Yup, he was just as confrontational in his posts here. Looks like he gave it all up for HA when he couldn't get a driver working for his gas combustion detector Zigbee device, in the middle of when @kkossev was working with him to try and get him a driver working for it.
I had not researched the history but I can definitely see that being the case.
