The default virtual shade transition delay is 10 seconds which means that when you use a virtual shade to command a group of shades it is ten seconds before anything happens. Seems like the ASAP option should be the default. It took me forever to figure out that the virtual shades I created to use with the mirror app were behaving so poorly because of the transition setting. ASAP was an immediate fix. Room lighting is another way to command a group of shades but it is far more complicated to set up.
