So we got one of these as a gift since we like birds... I am always reluctant to add cloud only/home network connected cameras (made in China) so I was a little leery.
AI (Cloud) bird detection, cloud notifications etc all require a subscription and we're NOT into/NOT going to do that. But the gifters were excited and anxious to see the results.
I decided to set it up on isolated Guest wifi, and on a spare phone with an alternate account. Clearly this could be setup manually with some surgery to a bird feeder or just a cam pointed at a feeder.
The App has some bagging for subscription and upselling... but it will run and take still images without it.
But I have to say the 'birds eye view' looking right into camera is hilarious. The app locally alerts on the phone only, But maybe with some trickery I can find a way to push the notifications out.
