Using Iris KeyPad to control Lock

Morning. Finally getting to my gate lock.
I have a perfectly good 10 dollar combination lock on my gate now but .......setting up on on HE would be cool....so here goes!

I believe i have a working setup for using an Iris Keypad to open a lock but there are a couple of issues im hoping to sort.

Iris Key Pad V2 3405-L ( pretty certain its a centralite)
Kwikset 888.

As i was testing this i was annoying the heck out of my wife ( with the lock opening and closing) so i substituted a smart plug for the lock so i could troubleshoot by a light toggling on

I have a code set in Lock Code Manager ( Always enabled, named "Gate Code")

Rule Manager. Trigger Key Pad: Gate Code
Action: On Smart Plug 2 ( simulating opening Lock)

This is where i'm looking for some help please.
It appears that i have to Arm the system before a gate code will do anything

With System Disarmed

  • Entering gate code alone does nothing
  • Entering the gate code followed by Off does nothing

With System Armed Away ( by depressing "On" )

  • Entering gate code does nothing
  • Entering gate code followed by "Off" opens the lock ( or rather turns on smart plug)

The only change i can see in the Current States is in the SecurityKeyPad line between "disarmed" and "armed away" please see below.

I think this should work...i'll just have to teach people to press the "On" button ( which will arm the system) before entering the gate code - followed by "off)

Not stuck to this setup. If anyone knows any other ways of using an iris keypad for a lock control...would appreciate the feedback.
