Using Hubitat with two IPhones and an Ipad

I have an iPhone and my wife has an iPhone and an Ipad. I have added her own account under her email. I cannot seem to get it configured just right. She is shown as a guest.

What I am trying to achieve is getting her iPhone and iPad setup to receive notification on both and to recognize her presence on the iPhone. Additionally I am the Admin and I want Notifications and Presence on my iPhone .

I have searched and read on line how to achieve this but so far, I have only managed to screw it up. Her iPhone is the only device that can comes up to chose when I set up a notification, crazy thing is, it is still sending the notifications to my phone.

I can't help but think this should be a simple interface but apparently it is not. Please let me know if you have a solid process for setting this up.

Do you have the Hubitat app installed on all of the devices? I have it working on my iPhone and 2 iPads (no presence). Problem is I did all of this a while ago and don’t remember the details. But when there is an alert, it shows up on all of my devices.

She doesn't need a separate account. Just log all 3 devices under one account and it will create 3 different devices under hubitat

The app is installed on all three devices. At first I just used my account thinking that the Hubitat would grab the device ID on each but that wasn't the case for me. I understood from some of the documentation that she (my wife) would need a guest account, so I signed her up and went about trying to create a rule that would send an alert. It is still just showing (1) iPhone as a choice. This would seem like it should be a simple interface but apparently it is not.

I don't mind doing the research but so far I have not found the correct instructions.

That's strange. Delete the device her app created. Have her log out then back in as you, it will prompt to create the device.

Sorry for the confusion. It should be "a simple interface" as you envision, however things can get a little complicated if multiple devices are created. The basic steps are:

  1. Install the Hubitat app on the mobile device.
  2. Log in with the Hubitat Account (you can use the same admin account on all mobile devices, or create a guest account for individual mobile device, if you don't want to share the admin credentials with other family members).
  3. When prompted, create a new mobile device.

That's all it is to it, when creating a new mobile device.

Now, where things can get complicated, is when a user repeats the above steps multiple times and ends up creating multiple devices on the hub. Only the last created device is functional. Every prior mobile device iteration will no longer be functional.

In your case, I suggest connecting to your hub and deleting ALL mobile devices, then go to each of your mobile devices, log in, and create a new device.
