C7 user, I am seeing some absolutely amazing user apps coming out that in the past Home Assistant device bridge would have had to handle. I use the device bridge and it works flawlessly but when my server goes down it is more difficult getting it back up vs Hubitat which just comes back and works. I was wondering how much processing power these network device apps take. I mostly use Zigbee and have Zwave turned off. I tried matter but gave up and turned it off and just used Alexa/Home Assistant to handle it since it has basically unlimited capacity. The problem is I am well past the joyful tinkering stage and want to make sure everything just works.
An example of what I use user app wise.
- Govee
- Dreo (new) about to switch from HA
- Reolink (new) about to switch from HA
- Switch bot (not using currently but may again)
- Matter air conditioner (using (HA)
Basically does anybody have an idea how taxing it would be on the hub. Currently have a c7, have an extra one if that helps by splitting the duty. The key not to affect the hubs ability to run Zigbee which is 90 percent of my devices.

Well the right answer is… it depends, but the high level answer is nothing you are adding should have a negative impact on the hub.
first i would ensure those integrations have simular capabilities that you use on HA on HE. Dreo could be a show stopper
Since you have 2 C7s and are risk-averse, start slow. Add a new device, get it automated up and monitor performance. If everything is cool for a few weeks to a month then rinse and repeat. If things aren’t cool disable the device and automations an put them on the extra c7. Some people have dedicated hub just for cloud integrations.
If you really are risk adverse, i would recommend sticking to devices on this list.
I agree it’s hard for others to predict how a specific combination of devices and integrations will work in someone else’s environment.
But I still use a C7 and it hasn’t had any issues with what I’ve thrown at it.
What Govee Integration are you using. Are you using the built in one, or my Govee Integration V2.
Lan based integrations can be a bit more intensive, but it can also be based on configuration. I have over 50 Govee devices connected to my main C8 Pro hub. So it is certainly posssible for you to have many Govee devices on the hub.

I have found with the C7 ones I have is that they don't like too much variety. Ie I have a C7 with just zigbee, one with just z-wave, another with just wifi and another now with just matter connected with Hub Mesh. This seems to no overload any C7.
You can pick up 2nd hand C7 off eBay pretty cheap.
Allot of folks run split hubs based on radio or purpose. I think it is all about what you are doing with it and how your stuff is designed to work.
Just remember to try to trigger everything based on events and minimize things triggered on short intervals.
No matter how you do things you can kill a hub with one thing that is poorly designed.
The best thing you can do to minimize the chance of impact is to get a C8 Pro. With twice as much ram, a faster SOC, and all the other improvements with the soc generational improvements it handles everything better.
That said i always ran everything on a single hub for my main house functions. I have a c4, c7, c8, and a c8 pro. The C4 was always just for development, but the others were rotated through being production then to dev functions.
