URC Custom automation?

Anyone heard of URC? (urc-automation.com) It reminds me of Control 4.

Friend just called who's working on someones house that the previous owner didn't leave any access codes and wants to get in and possibly integrate it with Hubitat. Just curious if anyone heard of it or knows anything about it.

Tagging @dJOS - Derek may have some info in this area, he's using or has used URC remotes and may have gone down the rabbit hole a bit.

I don’t have any experience with the models that support IP. I use the older IR/RF models.

The big problem with URC is getting the software and an account to use it. It’s kinda painful as they use a dealer model to sort and program their systems.

There’s a topic over here that explains how to get the software and has links to the older versions that don’t need an account.

You should be able to download the existing programming to your PC (it’s windows only) and then play with it from there.

I just use voice commands to control lighting etc via Alexa or Siri depending on what room I’m in.

PS, URC remotes are great, they are built like brick dunny’s and last forever. I have 2 MX-980’s with MRF-350 base stations and love them. I’ve tried replacing them multiple times and always end up throwing away the “replacement”.
