I have the Unifi Protect app installed and working with the cameras with no issues.
There is also a SMart Sensor as part of my setup but this has not appeared under the app as a child device - I can see the info get ting parsed in the logs:
No child device found for ID 6854a40a01a59b03e40142be; skipping
Does anyone know how to get this imported as a child device in the Unfi Protect app?
As noted in the app description and docs, the integration does not currently support devices that are not cameras, so what you're asking for is not possible at the moment.
What other log entries do you see (for this device, and do you know that this is the one)? Enable all debug logging for the app and console/NVR child, and this could be possible to add if there's anything interesting in there...

The newest Protect API does have sensor data available. Not sure which version of Protect you might have if the Protect Control Plane for the API does not list them, but I can save a PDF of it if you need it (my Protect is at 6.2.54 on the Early Access channel).

There are community-written integrations that include the sensors, but do not rely on the new API that Ubiquiti made available.
