Roll back to prior release and take a screenshot of the rule, so we can see what's wrong.

or

Remove the rule and recreate it.

It isn't restoring a backup that is needed, it is rolling back the hub platform software. Go you your-hub-ip:8081, and click on Restore Previous Version. Select 2.3.0 with highest release number.

It is recreatable. Just create a rule 5.1 and select use required expression new condition between two times and select sunrise. It errors out.

You seem to be talking about two different things. I'm confused.

Are you saying:

You cannot create a condition for the Required Expression of Between Sunrise and Sunset?

or

Are you saying that if you have such a condition you can't import the rule?

I guess I'm confusing two different posts.

I am saying that after the update My rule no longer worked. I was getting an error null pointer to time. My rule has a required condition utilizing sunrise and sunset times.

I tried to re-create the rule before going back to last version of hubitat platform and found that when I tried to implement the required expression between two times for sunrise and sunset it gave me the error again. Therefore I reverted to older platform level and my rule now works.

All you have to do is create a test rule 5.1. Use the required expression, select between two times then sunrise and BAM error!!!!@

This is a Required Expression I created in 2.3.0, and then I updated to 2.3.1 with no problem.

As you can see, I cannot reproduce the problem. I don't know how you are creating an error.

I see. Then I guess it was just me. Anyhow I just re-updated back to hub-2.3.1.129 and the error is no longer there. A fluke?

I have a suspicion: I think your hub timezone was not set correctly (for who knows why?), and when you updated it got fixed. The error you showed, I believe, is thrown when there is no hub timezone. I'm going to put a catch in there to make that error say that.

I have run in to the same problem where I use a condition between sunset and sunrise. But yesterday there is no sunrise or sunset since we are in the polarday where the sun is up 24 hours a day. I think this is the reason for the error

Ah, I have always wondered about this situation. I never tested for it, nor could I really see how to. Could you post your rule and a screenshot of the Scheduled Jobs portion (bottom) of the App Status page (gear icon)?

Here is the rule and a screenshot of scheduled jobs. One way to test this for you is to set the latitude and longitude in the Hub details to 70N 23E like mine and the you will have Polar day too
