I am trying to understand some of my logs. I usually don't worry about "debug" in the logs (or at least not as much as when I see "error"). But was still wondering if there is any way to "debug".
Some devices in my house that always throw a debug log are the Inovelli Fan & Light LZW36 and the GE Hinge Pin Door Sensor.
The inovelli is running the inovelli custom driver and the latest inovelli 1.36 firmware.
The GE hinge pin door sensors have been installed for well over a year and have worked 100%. But there is no dedicated driver for them. I am just using the generic "zwave door/window sensor" driver. I imagine this is the reason for the "debug" with this device. Anybody have a custom driver for these?
O.K. so I had debug logging turned on (must be the default setting) and after turning off the debug logging, the logs don't show anything.
The logs actually don't show anything at all when I turn the light on or off. There is no entry in the logs. Usually when I turn a zwave switch on/off I get an entry in the logs, but not with the inovelli. I just turned off my dining room light (Ge/Jasco) and my logs instantly update with a line that states "Dining Room Light was turned off (physical)" I know hubitat is receiving the message that the inovelli fan light has turned on/off cause my dashboard updates immediately with the state change.
You can look in the events tab of the device's screen to see the on/off event logs but you're right many drivers do send more informational logs than Inovelli.
