I have been having trouble with my 2 Schlage BE469ZP going offline on my ST HUB recently and have had enough and finally decided its time to move on to Hubitat (fearful that the schlage doorknobs would be hard to pair with other hubs including Hubitat kept me from moving away from ST).
I am however unable to exclude the door knob. i have tried several times. anyone have had experience successfully excluding this Schlage BE469ZP from an ST HUB? I am just so tempted to just delete the darn thing from the ST HUB but i am just afraid this will give me further problems when i try to pair the door knob with a C8.

If you aren't going to be using the lock on ST any more, you can just shut down your ST hub and do a full reset on the lock and then join it to Hubitat. The reset will clear the Z-Wave table/info on the lock.
You should join other "beaming devices" like Z-Wave switches, plugs, etc., to Hubitat first before joining the lock. Locks like/need beaming devices near them to join/function well.
I'd do:
Switches, plugs, etc., all mains powered devices first
Then locks
Then add battery powered sensors - contact, motion, moisture, etc.
Work outwards from your Hubitat hub when joining devices, closest devices to it first, moving farther away as you add devices.
