Unable to change VLAN

I just plugged in a new C-8 hub. It registered and updated the firmware without issue. Now it is sitting on my 192.168.50.x network but I want it on 192.168.107.x. If I try and setup a static ip on the 107 network the hub says it is a different network and may not be found. It won’t let me make the change.

Is there any way to set a different net or do I have to provision a port just to log into the Hubitat?

Wi-FI or ethernet? Hopefully ethernet as that is the recommended connection choice for best stability.

Is there a reason you aren't setting an IP reservation on the router, rather than on the hub? Doing it on the router is for most of us the preferred approach.

After you set a reservation on your router, you can reset the hubs network settings by looking for the one square (or round? always forget) hole on the bottom of the hub. It's the one hole that is different shaped from all the others. Use a pin to press the button inside there for 7-10s and that will reset your hub's network settings. Then your hub should be able to connect to your network and receive the desired IP from your router.

Note that IP reservations are Wi-Fi or Ethernet specific...i.e., there are separate MAC addresses for Wi-Fi and Ethernet, so you need to make sure you use the right MAC address for an IP reservation on your router.

Hmm, I tried to set the reservation but it didn’t change after a reboot. Let me try the reset.

My other hubs are all static.

Ethernet? If so, make sure the Ethernet cable is connected to a port on you router or AP w/the desired VLAN provisioned on it...

The port isn’t provisioned so it should pick up any VLAN.

After I clean up my hubs I need to clean up my network. :joy:

I’ve had some routers not assign the reserved ip address until the dhcp lease time expired. I needed to shorten the lease time (to say 30 seconds). Then turn off my device (in your case the hub), wait 30 seconds and turn it back on.

I’d watch the client list on the router until my device had its proper ip address then return the dhcp lease time to its original setting.

Also, as was mentioned, the port you plug the hub into must be on the desired vlan in order for the dhcp server to be able to hand out the reserved address.

Hmm, I’m guess I’m wrong. The other hubs are provisioned on the router to the 107 network. Everything else is on the switch un-provisioned and falling on the 50 net. Most everything else is connected to the access points and can choose what SID to use.

Yeah, that’s the next project I need to tackle. I saw a decent rack on marketplace the other day.

Edit: It’s all in there somewhere.

I provisioned a port on the DMP and it was assigned the correct address. It is on the other side of the room from where it will ultimately live. It won’t have a big impact on the mesh when I move it but was hoping to have it at the other location to start. :man_shrugging:t3:

Taking away your Amex until you get things ship-shape, matey.
