Unable to access device details on a Pixel 8 Pro running Android 16. I can see the device details when I add the device but from that point forward touching the device on the devices page just shows me whether a lock is open or closed. There's no menu item to get back to the device details page. The Hubitat documentation has some text about a "flyover menu" that makes no sense to me. Do they mean a modal which is the actual term of art? Regardless, I don't see anything but a device icon that I can touch to open or close a lock, nothing more.
Can you share a screenshot of what you're looking at? My guess is the "Devices" (light bulb icon) in the mobile app. This is essentially a pre-built dashboard offering key information and control for supported device types, and it's generally enough for a quick glance at the status or basic control. You don't get all the information that you'd get if you were to go to the device detail page for the device, which is accessible on the "Devices" link in the left-side menu of the hub's admin interface, which is accessible by navigating to your hub's IP address (or usually also mDNS name) in any browser. The mobile app does provide a shortcut to get there (tap the hub name on the home screen and then "Connect to hub"), but that's extra work and just puts the app UI in the way when you could use a browser -- or, even better, a browser on a desktop, laptop, or tablet -- instead. But it can work.
Additionally, if the "Devices" tab isn't enough for what you are trying to do, can you share more information about what that is? There could be another way to do it (without needing the hub's admin UI, which is generally only needed for device administration and can be used for day-to-day operation but is usually not the best for that).
Hope this helps!
This was very helpful. Thank you. What I'm trying to do is understand why I can't lock a Schlage JFE 109 connected keypad lock. I can retrieve and set lock codes but locking via the app results in the lock beeping twice every few seconds and a debug log entry that says [my device name] is unknown.
Does it work if you try from the device detail page? (The app or a dashboard should do the same, but this is a good place to try running any specific command while knowing exactly which one it is and being able to see any attribute values of interest.)
You'll probably want to look in your device's manual and see if that beep sequence is documented. Typically, you'd get a "locked" or "unlocked" value back, so something is wrong (maybe it's jammed? my understanding of the Z-Wave standard for the underlying value you're likely getting is that the bolt is neither fully retracted nor fully extended, though actual debug logging and not descriptionText logging should show you more). The manual may explain, or you can try things like making sure the deadbolt is installed such that it can move without too much force or seeing if there's a calibration process documented.
