Ubiquiti switches - Stats without UDM

I know there are a few of you on here that run Unifi gear. I have a controller and a couple AP's. Thinking about swapping over one of my generic POE switches to a ubiquiti one.

But I can't find anything conclusive if I will still be able to see per port details in the controller. Nor can I seem to verify if they even support SNMP so I can use my own homebrew graphing.

Can anyone here shed some light for me?

I have a relatively large number of Ubiquiti devices connected to A UDM Pro, and UNVR.

From my controller page, I can drill down to individual ports on every switch I have.

However, you are running a self hosted controller?

I doubt you'll get any more data than you have now. As I recall, when I was using an Edgerouter, and cloud key, I couldnt see any of the extended info.

I'm not presently using SNMP, so at the moment I can't answer that.

Others may have a better answer.

Yeah I'm running the controller in a docker container.

I'm going to keep my opnsense firewall though. Just possibly adding the switches.

I just want to make sure if I dump that kind of cash I'll still be able to graph bandwidth per port. Either natively in unifi or via snmp stuff.

Are you using this Unifi Docker? It states it is just a dockerized version of the Unifi Network app.

The Unifi Network app does show the power usage per port for their switches. This information is also available in the Network API (I display it within my Unifi Network drivers in the per-port mapping and then as the total switch's power).

Yeah that's the one I'm running.

I just want per port traffic graphs. Whether it's in the app, or I can scrape snmp for my own grafana dashboard.

Sorry, not sure why I focused on Power, when you mentioned bandwidth... maybe because the PoE mention flipped that bit for me.

Anyways... the bandwidth is NOT in the API data for ports. The webpage app does provide per-port data usage (Tx and Rx)... so it has to be provided somewhere. Trying to do some digging, but it does not trigger much when you select the Ports icon... so I think the data is all triggered when you go to the Network tab to begin with, which has a BUNCH of activity.

In my searching (Google image search) I'm finding some threads where the old app interface shows graphs for all the interfaces on the same page. The new interface only shows cumulative tx/rx per port.

I just ordered a used 8 port switch 4 poe, 4 non to play around with
