Tuya WiFi relay drivers help

Hello:

I have a need to use a WiFi relay to control some stuff. (Also WiFi contact sensor, but that is another topic) The Zigbee and Z-Wave can’t reach into the metal shed some 250 feet away, but I have a WiFi repeater inside the metal shed that works very well.

So, I want to have a couple of WiFi relays (maybe these 4 Channel AC 85-250V Smart WiFi Dry Contact Relay Tuya)

This is a WiFi device, but I have had limited luck using Tuya devices.

Is there a device driver I can install to get the job done? Are there special instructions for said driver?

Thanks, Mark.

you sould use the Tuya SmartLife app and bring that device into HE via the Tuya integration.

What HE hub do you have? If C8pro you could bump the Zigbee power up or lower the power and put a repeater in the house, positioned nearest the shed.

How about the sort of relays but definitely Wi-Fi Shelly Plus UNI?

I have a Shelly in my shed and it works great. I use it to monitor the DC voltage of my security camera backup system as well as one of the relays to reset the cameras when needed

Sorry, I forgot about proper etiquette for asking for help.

I have a C-7 hub with Platform Version 2.4.3.137 so no Bluetooth.

I am looking into the z-wave, but the devices are just so much more expensive. Also there does not seem to be a lot of low voltage stuff.

Since I have a good WiFi connection, I am writing a ESP8266 app. The ESP can respond to HTTP requests, and the Hubitat can send those. But, it is a science project and I just as soon not re invent the wheel. (although my wheel will have nice square corners. LOL) Maybe I make another post asking if someone already has a wheel.

Mark.
