I am not as much interested in using it as a thermostat (because I use TRVs and air conditioners) but as a cheap display and control device that can be mounted on the most convenient place in the room. It will simply mirror the actual heating setpoint of the TRV or the AC, and will display the room temperature.
WARNING: the LCD display shows the temperature in Celsius only!
Would also be useful for people with camping trailers or motor homes (caravans). A battery-powered thermostat is generally easier to hook up in those than a fully wired standard one (we used a fairly basic battery thermostat for a trailer we used to have, but it easily replaced and was better than the one that the trailer came with).
I don't suppose there's a way to force the device to show Fahrenheit instead of Celsius, is there? I have not been able to find any documentation about that, and there isn't a setting in the driver for it.
Unfortunately, there is no Zigbee command (Tuya 'Data Point') to configure Fahrenheit/Celsius display mode. Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion is done only in the driver code, but the display can not be changed.
