I have a newly installed C8 Pro, version 2.4.0.151. So far I have two ZigBee Sonoff sensors. A switch in the kitchen with a basic on-off rule that works great. I also have a Sonoff temperature humidity sensor in the garage which seems stuck. I paired it close to the hub and then moved it to the garage. Now the readings seem stuck. Is there an indication that it has lost connection? The log has the last contact as yesterday. Is that my only indication? The location is about 25 feet away and through a wall. Maybe kick up the power a bit? I can't find that power setting now. Shouldn't it be showing on the device detail page?
edit: further searching shows that power settings are not device specific so that probably isn't the solution.
Any hints appreciated.
You can experiment with your C8 ZigBee power levels, antenna orientation and hub location in an effort to find the best reception between the three(4?) devices.
Or... add some repeaters to help with your mesh.
Tuya USB's if you prefer something small.
IKEA plugs with this driver if you have space for them.
For the Sonoff Temp/hum sensors you can use this driver to monitor the healthStatus of the devices.
OK thanks. I guess with the log showing no activity it means there's no connection? I'll increase the power level a little. As far as repeaters there's really no outlet or device between the hub and the garage. Maybe Z-wave would work better?
I kicked the power up a little, removed it and set it up again. It looks like so far it's connected. Fingers crossed.
Thanks!
Sometimes with zigbee sensors you may have to rejoin them a few times without removing them from the hub before they will stick and function properly. It isn't always a power issue.
Rejoining them without removing them will put them right back in their same spot with the same name.
No idea why but I have had several Sonoff and Third Reality sensors I had to do this way. Eventually they stick and work properly.
