Trouble with pairing zigbee device

If the manufacturer is willing to send us a device that would be the best route to take.

I’ll ask but they are a Norwegian company so…

Why isn’t there a standard protocol that everybody follows?..

The problem with a lot of devices (especially zigbee) is that they follow most of the protocol except that last 5 percent which only is stable on their own system. I'm looking at you sonoff/xiaomi/ikea/tuya

Then they shouldn’t be able to label their devices as ex. ZigBee 3.0.
Where is the smart home police when you need them..?

I will unpack my old Homey and see if that one connects. If it does,…

Agreed. That is why there is the official compatibility list. Now what's on there definitely has been tested by Hubitat staff to behave as expected with a 1.2 radio but there have been issues of a few devices not working correctly with a true 3.0 radio even though 3.0 is supposed to be backwards compatible, the device is off just enough that while it won't have a prob connecting to a 1.2 radio it may have issues connecting with or staying connected with a 3.0 radio. Z-wave certification is mandatory to carry the z-wave logo... Zigbee, not so much it seems.

@tsaaek what version of HE do you have? I’ve only been trying to pair the lock to my C8 so far.

I have C7

I got it to pair. I saw two options I've never seen before...

Tried the last one first, since it looked to fir my issue the most but it didn't work.
Tried the first option and BAM, went to naming the device right away.

@mike.maxwell Now that the device is paired, is there any data you would like to have that might help solve the pairing struggle?
Also, what does "Enable lockCode encryption" do and should I enable this option?

This is so that if looking in the device page you cannot see the installed codes. You can do it but shrug... No one else has access to it and if someone really wants in the house, I'm sure there is a brick or rock handy outside. Glad you got that sorted. I forgot about those options.

If we were able to automatically detect the situation that option one resolves we would do so.
