There is a strong likelihood that this device will pair with S0 security. Which triples the amount of z-wave network traffic between a device and the controller.
My suggestion would be to pair this device (and another device that pairs with S0 - except locks) using a secondary controller. They will pair with "security = none", which is perfect for things like motion sensors.
