Tradfri Signal Repeater - Discontinued?

As best as I am able to tell after a visit to Ikea Web Site is that the Tradfri Signal Repeater has been discontinued. A little further research seems to indicate that the Tradfri line is being replaced/upgraded. Suggestions for an alternative repeater would be much appreciated. A Zigbee repeater with included battery backup similar to Ring's Alarm Range Extender would be great.

thanks

It doesn’t have a battery backup, but I find that the small Tuya repeater works great! I have multiple around the house.

Here’s an example from AliExpress:

I also have some Tradfri ones, and between the two, I much prefer the Tuya ones.

Plugs are being updated as well.

The clunky one is gone.

Will probably give these a try as I live just a hop, skip and a jump away from an Ikea.

Thanks for providing me with an option.

Wow - very nice! The plugs should act as repeaters. That said, their older ones were not very good at that repeating task…

I have 9 of those little Tuya's everywhere and I have found them to be great and quite strong in the RF dept.

I had one of those little Tuya repeaters, and it worked fine. My issue was that out of the 6 total I ordered, 4 of them had defective USB plugs and either wouldn't fit into a USB socket (and I tried multiple over this journey) or were just out-of-spec enough that you could insert it, but removing them separated the circuit board from the shell.

I had enough with that and purchased and installed Aeotec dedicated repeaters. They work fine, and in the end, ended up being the same total cost as the Tuya units, all things considered.

Update: I went to Ikea today and purchased several of their updated smart plugs. (I will bring popcorn or a rescue line next time to find my way out.)

I have not spent much time with the new plug other than to pair it with a C-8 Pro. The pairing/factory reset button is a vast improvement over the original model as well as there being an off/on button on the device.

The obvious improvement is its physical footprint.

I did purchase the the "TRETAKT" (it includes a button controller) as it was the only smart plug available. I have not played with the remote other than to confirm that it paired with the plug.
