I had setup my system initially on a Aeotec SmartThings hub including the Ecolink z-Wave garage door tilt sensor. I had to replace the hub, however I forgot to exclude the sensor first. Now with the battery in the sensor once it lights it stays On and the new hub doesn’t/won’t include it.
How can I reset the sensor to the factory settings such that the light blinks?
You initiate exclusion mode on the sensor, same as inclusion mode, by removing the battery for at least 5 seconds, reinstalling the battery, then replacing the sensor cover.
You first need to exclude the sensor before you include it. You can exclude the sensor using your Hubitat hub, You don't need the original SmartThings hub.
You should exclude it on your Hubitat hub by... Devices >> Add Devices >> ZWave >> Start Zwave Exclusion.....then insert the battery in the sensor and close the cover. Open the logs in another window and watch the logs while you are doing this. The logs should say something like "Unknown Z-Wave device excluded." Once the device is excluded you can then follow the procedure to include it.
