So model wise is this a C8-Pro-T?

Yes.
@bobbyD So no Zigbee on this model then?
That's the way I read it.
Correct.
It appears it is only available in the US.
When you click on the Europe tab, it is not listed.
Due to very limited inventory, the hubs come with the US power supply, but shipping is not limited to the US.
$259. No Zigbee. I'll pass. What I'd like to see is a simple compatible auxiliary device that would seamlessly integrate with the existing hub.
Yes! Exactly my line of thought, SMLight has a few Ethernet POE proxy radios, wonder if they could use those to add new radios to any HE hub?
That’s exactly the purpose of the C‑8 Pro Thread Edition: it adds built-in Thread Border Router capability to the Hubitat Elevation ecosystem, allowing Thread devices to connect directly to Hubitat’s Matter server without relying on an external Apple or Google bridge.
Providing dedicated, fully integrated local Thread radio makes this a specialized product rather than a mass-market replacement for every user, so initial production volumes are necessarily smaller.
For cost-conscious users, an external Thread Border Router remains the most affordable way to bring Thread devices into Hubitat.
OH man I can replace my C7 in my Hub Mesh with the C8 Pro - T version and dump the Rube Goldberg HA Thread Border router. But now I would need another one of those super duper POE adapters that work with the C8. ![]()
Wrong link for the bottom of "learn more" page. We are working on it.
In case you need help deciding, I think this one is the prettiest... ![]()
Oops, forgot to add my own personal "WOOT!" regarding this release. Very cool to have more options to design/create our own desired Hubitat environment across so many connection/mesh types. Thanks!
As if any other justification is required. ![]()
Much of the time the hardest part is all the little things required to support one big thing. ![]()
So, the Z-Wave is retained but the Zigbee is deleted? Why not delete both Zigbee and Z-Wave and have this as an add-on device for Thread only? If it is meant to be used as an add-on to an existing hub, why not make it dedicated for that purpose at a better price point? This just means I will still be avoiding Matter/Thread since almost everything in my house is Zigbee with a few Z-Wave devices. While I have one device that uses Matter, it is an outdoor LED projector for Christmas decoration and it doesn't need to be linked to the system to work.
Nice pic, Mr. Goldberg.
Wait, you're giving up on integrated X-10 compatibility? ![]()
Insteon and Iris v1 folks would be offended.
Couldn't find the version info on the Thread. Is it v1.4 ?
