Thoughts about OUTDOOR LED Lightstrips (the best ones at the moment)?

I've purchased several Philips Hue outdoor LED lightstrips, the most recent in Nov 2022.

Unfortunately, the newest one started flashing on/off a few months back while I was on vacation. After spending some time trying things with Philips Hue (Signify, I suspect is the actual company), nothing would fix it. And, since it was past the 2 year warranty, all they'd do was offer me a 25% discount.

For a $220-250 product that barely lasted 3 years, that just isn't acceptable. Even worse, the product isn't even available on their website now.

Some years back, I got some el-cheapo outdoor LED strips that started flaking out almost immediately. At their price, it wasn't a huge ordeal--but I really want something of decent quality that will last.

I guess I'm leaning to Govee, as they seem to be (hopefully) better than the super cheap Chinese strips.

Thoughts, recommendations? Thanks!

I have had these lining the inside of my closet doors and pantry since 2021. Going strong!

EDIT : OOPS! Missed the OUTDOOR part.

Well, one thought is to check with your credit card's t&c, you might have extended warranty coverage.

Nothing useful to add about LEDs, sorry. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

BTF-LIGHTING WS2811 strips with an outdoor WLED controller. Both can be purchased on Amazon for around $25 each.

I bought these to use as a perimeter light for our pergola. They've been up outdoors in rain and snow since Feb of 24. They are linkable. Not smart but I power them with a Smart plug. There is a remote for multiple settings. We never use it. They power on at their last setting. But, I want specific colors to be programmable from the hub. Thanks, though.
