Will I notice an increase in speed with a C-7. Right now I find the editing of long rules in Rule Manager quite slow especially if the free memory amount is on the low side.
Thanks

The database engine on C-7 is more efficient so you may see an increase in speed.
Thanks for the reply. I know the C-7 has a different processor which I would hope is faster. Plus the software is 32bit vs the 64bit of the C-4 so I am thinking it will be faster! Does anyone know by how much. If it's just marginal then I see no point in an upgrade but if it is significantly faster...
The videos I have seen on You Tube where the presenter shows the editing of certain routines etc, appears to be much faster than what I am seeing on the C-4, so I am just confirming.
The C3/C4 are identical hardware. The C5/C7 are identical except for the 700 Series Z-Wave radio in the C7. C5 uses a 500 Series Z-Wave radio.
The CPU speeds/number of cores are very comparable between the C3/C4 and the C5/C7. They all have the same amount of RAM and eMMC storage. As you mentioned the C5/C7 use a 32bit bit version of Linux, which is able to more efficiently use the available system resources. The C7 is also the platform that the Hubitat team appears to be primarily focused on these days, for understandable reasons.
I recently migrated from my C3 hub to a C7 hub. I do perceive a slightly snappier user interface. In general, I feel things are running a little smoother on the C7. I do not use Z-Wave at all, so I cannot comment on any performance issues there. The Zigbee functionality seems to be about the same, as are my Lutron and Philips Hue lighting systems which are both integrated over the LAN. I personally perform my development on my old C3 hub at this point, to avoid disrupting the family.
It is nice to know that I am running on newer hardware, as I did have a C4 hub simply fail not too long ago. Thus, one of the reasons I bought the C7 was as insurance against the C3 failing as well.
Good luck with your decision.
