I have never customized the Thermostat template until today but I seem to be missing a state. My Thermostat is reporting "Off" because I am at or above 70 in my house.
However, "Off" isn't an option in the Thermostat template. I assume "Idle" is the closest option.
Am I missing something?
I think it is usually driven off the supported operating states attribute on the device. You may need to talk to the developer about updating them.
What driver are you using?
THAT would be a problem. The thermostats are Sensi and are in Home Assistant because they are wifi. I bring them into HE using the HADB.
I just moved into house and that is what is installed; I didn't choose them.
Hmm... That does make it interesting....
I'm not sure if there would be a command to update them....
There is probably some YAML I could do in HA but that is WAY above my knowledge level.
It might be more a question about the options for hadb to set them....
Sorry for cross-posting but @ymerj was able to update the Home Assistant Device Bridge and my thermostats are now correctly reporting "Idle" instead of "Off". Thank you.
