Our house is full of Minka-Aire 6-speed DC fans. Each is controlled via Zen71 (simple paddle switch). The physical switch is disabled and set to scene control. In the Button Controller app:
- Single tap on top sets light level based on the current mode
- Single tap on bottom turns off the light
- Double tap on top sets light to 100%
- Double tap on bottom toggles the fan
For anything more complex, there is a remote in each room (or the Bond phone app). Automations handle predictable situations and Alexa commands handle a few infrequent situations. For our house and situation, the humble Zen71 just works.
