That hasn’t been my experience. Echo responds quickly but there is a significant delay with the HomePod Minis. I’m working on a custom app for the iPad and TTS works instantly there. I might end up adding a custom driver just for Hubitat announcements.

I get a 2-3 second delay on Homepods. Now what does drive me a little nuts is if you use more than 1, then it popcorns and the rule won't continue till the announcement is made on the last speaker. But overall 2-3 seconds is normal for when had my echo and google stuff.
I get much faster response on the Echo. I was testing and put both in the same rule. Since it pauses the rule it waits about three seconds then the HomePod says “good night” and right after the Echo says it without a delay between the two.
Three seconds isn’t the end of the world but as a response to an action it makes you wonder if the event triggered. Since I’m using it on a toggle action you want to press the button again and that would just toggle it back.
Since you can add both the ikea and HomePods to the same group I was thinking of trying them out.

I notice Ikea has the SYMFONISK on sale December 21. Don't everyone buy them all before I get another couple

I played with the first one of these. I couldn't resist buying 2 more. Now instead of me having to grab a phone to see what an alert is about, I have Brian telling me "Water leak from device 21 Barn Back Room"

Does anyone use the Sonos Connect Gen 1 (with your own speakers)?
Does it work just as well for TTS?
