Tello question

Does Hubitat still use Tello as a notification app?
I have an unlimited plan with Tello. Does this help?

Side note: my biggest interest is adding a way to receive notifications. I can't log in to my account because I don't see a link for forgotten password. I switched password managers and now the old password is gone.

What is Tello?

There's no mention of it on the Hubitat community in the context of a notification app, and my Google-fu isn't picking up anything relevant.

Are you referring to receiving SMS via Tello mobile? If so, Hubitat hasn't support SMS through any carrier for 5 years now. Individual users can subscribe to Twilio to receive SMS notifications. And there is built-in support for Twilio.

Twilio, that must be it My mistake.
I am looking for an alternative to adding my phone to receive SMS messages.

Best would be adding my phone as a notification device.
I have access to my Hub but not my account.

Maybe @bobbyD can help you out?

As an aside, I just started using the password manager on my first iPhone. You bring up a good point where I might want to maintain my original system-pen on paper-in parallel.

You could do that but there should be a way to print out all you passwords.
Usually in settings there should be a way to export your passwords.

This feature is usually used for transferring your passwords to a new manager.
It may give you an option that is equivalent to printing them out encrypted or plane English.

One part I don't remember is you may have to copy and paste to a printable document..

Note that in certain countries, getting approved for a twilio campaign is a bit of a process, but if you get through it, it’s very reliable. After the up front costs, I now spend about $4-$5 per month - and I send around 100 messages per month.

Edit: And to add, I really don’t use it for text notifications directly. I silence all notifications from my twilio number and process the messages using iPhone automations. This allows me to send data to my phone to act on it immediately or to store it for later shortcut/siri use. For example, asking Siri to find my car initiates an automation where HE sends my vehicle’s coordinates to my phone (and flashes the vehicles hazards) and an iPhone automation pulls up directions to those coordinates. A similar automation applies to “find my camper”, but depending on whether I’m connected to CarPlay, the directions either pull up as driving directions in Apple Maps or walking directions in Google Maps.

I had Twilio before and liked it. Very reliable. Unfortunately things change and if I can just add my phone🙂 that would work best.

Pushover is another very reliable option. I believe it is still $5 up front and no cost after that.
