Teckin Plugs

anyone know how to get TECKIN plugs working, i got about 8 of these plugs before i got the hubitat hub, then i got the fever lol. now i am completely lost, i got a multi purpose sensor and no lights/ plugs that i can see on the hub to control.

Is that a WiFi device? If so, there might be a couple options.

If the device has a publicly available API, a custom driver could be written to integrate with Hubitat (or search forum threads to see if someone has already).

Or if it can be flashed with Tasmota firmware, that could be another way to integrate with Hubitat.

But in general, most WiFi devices aren’t simple to integrate with Hubitat, compared to zigbee and z-wave.

I have 16 Teckin SP10 plugs that I had from my pre-Hubitat days. I converted them to tasmota, reserved the ip’s, and am using a driver from markus (no longer a member) to talk to them directly. If you search tasmota you should fine it.

Not the tasmota conversion requires the use of a rPi and isn’t the easiest thing to do.

Yup I am definitely phasing mine out as well with Sonoff zigbee plugs.

But I still have all of them plugged in and connected. They are nice for temporary things like Christmas lights.

Yeah I have just brought some ZigBee plugs too. Gonna keep the teckin plugs for simple tasks on/ off and use the ZigBee plugs for on/ off but with a input from other sensors

I use Alexa to control mine. It gets a little bit more complicated if you want to control from HE but doable.
