Tailwind-adjacent functionality

I’ve been looking into Tailwind, the “proximity” garage door opener/closer. There is a community driver from long ago, too.

I already have MyQ, Meross, and zooz integrated into Hubitat to control the garage door (the redundancy is historical, with newer devices added to the system, not replacing older ones, partially because of specific features - MyQ for guest access sharing, Meross for Apple Watch complication, and zooz for local control).

I have two cars, neither of which can be garage parked. One car (Tesla) sits in the driveway all of the time. The other car (Toyota Sienna 2017, pre-internet functionality) sits at the curb.

My question: is there a less expensive device or mechanism I can use to mimic the Tailwind functionality, since I already have the controller part? Eg a proximity sensor or something? There was a comment here in 2019 but no details as to the specific Hubitat compatible device nor logic to implement.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I use my Apple Homekit proximity to open the Garage door. (Only between 8am and sunset.) When my iPhone gets within the geofence, Homekit informs Hubitat and the Rule is run to open the GDO. I think it's been 3 years of use. There's only 1 flaw in this method... if I begin a journey then change my mind about how to travel, there's a chance I cross out of, then back into the Geofence. I get the notification on my phone/watch if the GDO is opened, and I just tap Home App to shut it. It's happened twice in 3 years.
