Switches for Hue lights

Can anyone recommend some dimmer switches that can be used with my Hue lights? Tired of having visitors (and the wife) turning off power to the Hue lights at the switch. So would like to have the switch actually turn the light off/on, and dim from the switch, as well as, from Hue app or Hubitat.

Note: brand new to Hubitat Elevation.

TIA for feedback

Welcone to HE!

I use Lutron Caseta wall switches throughout. If the light is directly connected to the switch I don't use a smart bulb. If the light is NOT directly connected to the switch I still dim it with the Lutron at the same time I dim whatever IS connected to the Lutron. And in cases where I have a room full of ONLY smart bulbs (which is rare) I use a Lutron Pico button controller. Hue also makes its own dimmer switch that does NOT switch an electrical circuit... it's just a button controller.

Lutron Aurora are the easiest solution and they work great. They have an old-school rotary-knob vibe - that may be a plus or a negative, depending on your preferences. But at least they're not a completely foreign design.

I really like the Lutron Aurora rotary dimmers. I bought 10 of them a month ago and paired them with the Hue bridge. They are so responsive it’s like they are hard wired.

OMG why have I never seen these before? Brilliant. I can replace those plastic "idiot guards" with something functional. Can you pair them with HE directly?

Wife prefers the paddle type switches. anything available in that style?

I've never tried to pair them to HE - I just don't have the need, so I've never looked into it. Mine are leftover from the days of when Hue was the extent of my smart home  -- I have them in a few rooms where the overhead lights are rarely used.

Whenever those hue bulbs finally die, I'll likely swap out the stuff for dumb bulbs and a smart switch, but for now, it works great.

The Auroras are really awesome - instantaneous response for both on/off and dimming, and I haven't touched a battery since installing years ago. I've forever used iConnectHue on iOS to manage the backbone of my entire Hue setup - it's a great app for managing Hue and Hue accesories.

Not really, at least in terms of being a close-fit "Friends of Hue" kinda deal... Several Zooz switches/dimmers and the Innovelli Red series have a smart-bulb mode that you can use with Hue or any other smart bulb -- that would be the closest match for paddles.

Those Innovelli Red switches look like the ones my son has at his house. Just couldn't remember the brand. That and he hasn't replied to my test yet!

Thank you!

Wow, they are pricey too!

OTOH, I forgot about these guys -- these are a newer offering from Hue... They would allow keeping whatever dumb-switch style you want. This behind-the-switch kind of thing isn't my cup of tea, but it's another option to consider:

Philips Hue 2-Pack Wall Switch Module (For Philips Hue lights only), White - - Amazon.com

And unfortunately out of stock for the foreseeable future (the switch version anyway).

The comparable Zooz switches work very well (and are readily available), but they admittedly lack the cool super-customizable LED strip of the Innovelli Red.
