Anyone know what are the supported irrigation controllers ?
Rachio
Do you use Rachio?
Yes, have been using it for about 2 years. I really love it.
Honestly I have it integrated with Hubitat just because. I let Rachio do its magic by itself.
Are you using V2 or V3?
It's V2.
I am using a Rachio 3 16 zone, and it works great with Hubitat's built in integration. It's so smart on it's own that I usually just let it do it's own thing.
I use an EtherRain, which is kinda sorta similar, and I wrote a driver for it.. can't find any use for the driver though The device is smart enough on it's own.
Yea, I was so excited when I saw the Hubitat Rachio integration, but after playing with it, I couldn't come up with any real world use case for me.
Things I could see it being used for
Turn on if a deer is in your yard and sets off a motion.
Turn on if your daughters window opens. Keep guys from entering, and her from sneaking out. My oldest daughter is only 5 so doesn't apply to me yet
Turn off if on and a car or person is moving on the driveway or walking to the front door so they don't get wet.
Maybe turning on if smoke detector triggered. Not sure if this would be a good thing. It would drop the pressure from fire hydrant and not sure if it would actually help.
LOL
What sensors can be used outdoors?
I use a combination of these

and these
do you get a ton of false motions during the day
You just gave me a good idea.... I have v2 and I uninstalled the integration, Rachio works so good by its own, but I will install it again....
Hardly ever from either type. The good thing about the Homeseer is that it acts as a zwave plus repeater outside of your home.
The homeseer outdoor motions install easily into these lights. Probably many others as well, but these are the ones I used.
Has anyone tried Hunter Wifi Controller? Any integration?
I may eventually build a Raspberry Pi based controller but right now it's out of my price range. Even a Konnected board would be too expensive right now and would need relays.
I have a hunter hydrawise and it does a good job. I especially like that it is getting weather from a station that is less than a mile from my home. I bought a hubitat elevation about 3 weeks ago. I don't have it integrated and am not sure what integration would add to my irrigation.
I see Hydrawise is compatible with Alexa. Does that mean it could be integrated into Hubitat via Alexa?
I see Hydrawise has a RESTful API (Hydrawise API Information – Hydrawise). Does that mean someone could develop a cloud-based app or driver for Hydrawise?
