Suggest a good paddle light switch?

I need to replace my GE one looking for suggestions, i don't care if it uses z-wave or zigbee. Would be nice if it was small and didn't take up the gang box. The old GE one that i have is so large i cut the back of the gang box so it would fit.

I am very fond of Inovelli switches. They have been out of stock, but are supposed to be getting stock again tomorrow (or very soon at least…)

Zooz also makes some good paddle switches. They have some using the new 700 series chip.

I have used GE 14291 Enbrighten Z-Wave Plus Smart Light Switch with good results.

I have a ge zw4005 now that refuses to reset. There are so many post about ways to reset this model, i have found none that work.

Do any of these report the watts used? I have another GE newer version it would should the watts being used in ST. The newer switch reset fine btw.

I do like inovelli - I have four - but as @Sebastien states they are currently out of stock.

Most of my switches are Zooz. The zen26 being my typical go to. The new7x series is based on the silabs 700 chip and is smaller on the back side so I won’t be buying any more or the 2x series.

One note about the 26 and 27. They use a mosfet instead of a triac. In the off state they require a very small constant current through the load. This can cause some leds to not turn off all the way and in the case of the 26, if the led bulbs don’t pass current below a certain voltage can cause the switch to misbehave. An bypass or load resistor fixes the issue - I just didn’t want to recommend them without stating their faults.

I assume the 76 and 77 behave the same way, but I have not confirmed.

What about Motion Sensors and door/window sensors? I was using the samsung Magnetic Motion Sensors but they seem to be no longer made, i liked the Magnetic base made them easy to point.

Putting in my regular plug (pun intended) for Lutron Caseta. If you're just talking one you probably won't find it worth the cost. But if you're contemplating a bunch of them, the Lutron system is incredibly reliable and flexible. You need their PRO series hub but all the HE integration is telnet and local.
