Struggling with Nanoleaf Essentials A19 Bulb (Matter Over Thread)

C8 - 2.3.9.164
Homepod Mini - 17.6
Nanoleaf Essentials A19 - 3.6.196

So far, these bulbs have been a struggle almost every step of the way. They would pair with the app, but not with the Thread network, though it would say "Thread Network Found". Finally got them onto the Homepod Mini, but then struggled getting them into Hubitat. Once I was able to add them to Hubitat (as a Generic Matter RGBW Bulb), they are unresponsive to the Hub, and the "Current States" status in the Device Details is blank. I can't find rhyme nor reason when they decide to pair... no change in network, no change in procedure.

Help? Any insights?
TIA

UPDATE Next Day: I moved to a more "stable" network, and appear to be having success... I was originally using my iPhone hotspot for initial testing and setup.
For those of you who also may be struggling, here are my steps to get them paired to HE:

  1. Reset bulb to factory default per instructions

  2. Pair with Nanoleaf app first

  3. After pairing successfully, the app should automatically recognize the home ecosystem you're using as a Thread Border Router. In my case, it's an Apple Homepod Mini. My iPhone had a dialog box asking if to Allow it to connect to the Home system, which I clicked "Allow".

  4. Your home ecosystem should take over from there, confirming if you want to add the Light. Hopefully this all goes smoothly, and you can rename the light here if you want. I received an ios Home notification that I had added the bulb.

  5. It should return you to the Nanoleaf app... wait a few seconds and a screen should appear for you to click a "Finish" button.

  6. Return to the Home app, and confirm you have control of the bulb. Go to the Settings of the bulb, scroll to the bottom, and click "Turn On Pairing Mode". This will bring up a dialog box with a unique pairing code, which is different from the Nanoleaf pairing code, and will be different every time you attempt to pair the bulb. There are buttons for Apple, Google, and Amazon to view the unique pairing instructions for that ecosystem.

  7. Open the HE app or browser, go to the "Add Device" page, click the "Matter" button, and insert the code displayed on the Home app, and click "Start Pairing". If all is good, it should start pairing immediately.

  8. Once paired, click the "View Device Details" button. Scroll down to the "Device Type" combo box, and change it from "Device" to "Generic Matter RGBW Light".

  9. Click the "Save Device" button.

  10. Scroll back to the top of the page, and click the "Initialize" button. The "Current State" column should populate with the bulb settings, and you should have control of the device.

I've also experienced a lag once I've disconnected and then reconnected the bulb to power for the HE app to regain control.

I like the color rendering of these bulbs, but so far I'm not sold on their reliability or stability.

I join everything directly to hubitat when it comes to Nanoleaf. Don't even have to worry about thread. Hubitat has native drivers for nanoleaf. Just make sure you use DHCP reservations.

The new Essentials bulbs are Matter over Thread...

I updated the title for clarity. Thanks.
