Speed test failure

When I run Settings | Network Setup | Network Test | Speed test, I get the following error. Something I can fix, or system bug?

Bug. There was another post about this somewhere.

Looks like softlayer.com removed that DNS host.

speedtest.wdc01.softlayer.com
Server: one.one.one.one
Address: 1.1.1.1

*** one.one.one.one can't find speedtest.wdc01.softlayer.com: Non-existent domain

softlayer.com
Server: one.one.one.one
Address: 1.1.1.1

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: softlayer.com
Addresses: 2607:f0d0:1000:11:66:228:119:72
66.228.119.72

On doing a little more poking around. Speedtest.com is or was an instance on IBM cloud.

Hasn’t worked in a while. Wrote this driver some time back to get an estimate: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/thebearmay/hubitat/refs/heads/main/speedTest.groovy - Driver measures the download of a file from a URL to determine your download speed.

Its been broken for a LONG LONG time now. @bobbyD this should probably just be removed from the network test page if there is no plans to fix it. Could lead people to think something is wrong with their network.

Hubitat uses a reference to a cloud service which is no longer available. They could fix as it would only involve a quick url edit in their code. Would take longer to find a service to aim at.

I think @gopher.ny posted very recently yesterday or today, that a fix is coming for the speed test issue.

Yes, found it it's in the beta section so I won't post it here but Victor said he will have a fix for this in a coming build.

So it should be in 2.4.1.xxx when it's released.
