Sonoff Zigbee Battery devices reporting as routers

I have four Sonoff devices. a mix of temp/humidity/motion and button that are reporting as repeaters in the zigbee child and route info.

Should I just ignore this? It kinda bugs me. they are all using the stock hubitat drivers and supposedly zigbee 3.0.

Can you provide the exact model of the device and the driver they are using on HE?

The platform version is less likely an issue here, but never hurts to call it out, plus the HE hub revision you are running.

I am running a C8 at 2.3.7.142.

The button is a Sonoff SNZB-01
The motion sensor is a Sonoff SNZB-03
The Temp/humidity are Sonoff SNZB-02

This is probably where my expertise ends.... not that I had any with these devices...

The only other point worth clarifying may be when you added them to your hub / mesh? I'm going to take a wild guess and suggest they may assume a neighbour status for a short period when initially paired.... Could be wrong...

Hopefully others can chime in and solve this riddle...

I can confirm my Sonoff SNZB-02s are showing as repeaters for some reason now to.

These have been in a very stable mesh for a long time, I never used the diagram before.

It's just weird, I have others and they do not report that way.

There are also other Zigbee devices that do not report correctly whether the routing function is enabled or disabled, others do not report correctly the power source (battery or mains), etc.. Usually, this does not create a problem in the Zigbee mesh (except the wrong presentation in the graph app).

Tagging @mike.maxwell @gopher.ny

There is nothing wrong from HE side that needs to be fixed.

It's not just the graph app tho. It's the routing table too.

Yes, the routing table shows what is in the device descriptors, as reported by the device itself. These devices are not routers, so they do not advertise/broadcast routing functionalities in the mesh. If this was a problem, it should be a problem for any Zigbee hub, not just HE.

So the routing table thinks it's a router but it won't effect the mesh?

Yes, I think so.
My understanding is that this table is just informative.

Reset and rejoined them, they are reporting correctly again for now.

Sorry, to add to my report that mine show up as repeaters (blue), yes it seems to just be reporting as such not attempting to or actual repeat anything.

These are still on my C4, I can move one to my C8 and see if that changes anything having been newly added.

Minor issue it seems.

Yea it was more OCD on my end it was bugging me

To be frank, that routeandchild endpoint is not reliable for providing a complete or accurate picture of what's going on with your zigbee mesh. And since that graph tool is just an alternate presentation of that info, it too should not be trusted for anything.

I contend folks are better off just pretending neither of those tools exist - I have yet to see an example of any good coming from it.

The tool can be useful and I’m sure the dev team is or plans to work on it more or they wouldn’t have added it in the first place.

Without feedback it or anything else will not / would not get better on the platform.
