[Solved] Who else has AliExpress orders in transit that are now being held by USPS?

I just got the news today that Trump has halted all packages from China. My sensors for AliExress would have been coming this week, but now I have no idea.

It appears that we now have to pay the tariffs even on items under $800. If that has to be paid at the point of origin, how does this get paid by me? Does the post office collect it at delivery, or do I literally have to send a check to the government somehow?

This is all so ridiculous. Even with the tarifs, AliExress is so much cheaper than buying from US distributors, so not like it changes anything. It just makes things more difficult for everyone.

Edit: With further reading, it looks like USPS is just not going to allow shipments in from China or Hong Kong at all, so I guess I will just never see these sensors or get even get the option to pay a tariff.

USA Today is now reporting that the USPS has reversed that decision this morning so hopefully your packages get to rolling again soon.

Wow, that was a quick reversal. I wonder if I will have to pay the tariff to receive it?

Edit: The sensors were just delivered today, so no tariff. I guess I slipped in just under the wire on that one. The package had been opened and resealed, first time I've seen that.

It didn't say anything in the short article about the tariffs on orders already placed. I am sure though it will be passed along in the cost of the product moving forward. Like you said though if it is something you know works the cost is still much cheaper.
