[Solved] Lorex camera 3rd Party Notification on Android using Tasker

Background:
Lorex camera system provides only notifications to it’s Phone App.
Lorex has an Alexa skill but only to view cameras.
What is needed then is 3rd party Plug-ins for notifications to be recognized outside of a smartphone if wanting those notifications on other devices like Echos.
Hubitat solution solved using Tasker.
Credit to two Experts: sburke781 (Simon) and Stephen_nutt (Stephen Nutt).
My solution then: Tasker app on Android, Hubitat virtual contacts and Rule, Amazon Alexa Skills.

Add Tasker app to Android for LOREX camera notification “Lorex app already on Android”
Photos 1 & 2 Tasker - Create new Profile --> Notification -->Event

Alexa:
Add Hubitat skills to Alexa app
Photo 3 Create Alexa Routines to speak on Echos
Alexa says “someone in front entry”

Hubitat Rules:
Photos 4 & 5 Add Virtual Contact sensor to trigger Hubitat “camera motion rule”.
Create Hubitat Rule “Front Entry Camera Motion” that says *Alexa says someone in front entry.

Note: due to the number of Photos required some minor details not shown.

Great write-up. Have you looked at using Echo Speaks to run Alexa routines directly… instead of using virtual sensors? It’s a bit of a pain to set up, but once done, you can call Alexa routines directly from Hubitat.

Thanks for sharing!

No have not.
Be happy to have how you do it!
Would likely need TTS right?

TTS not needed. It’s a bit of a task but this will get you started…

You’ll need an RPI or other server.
