I have a lot of LIFX lights. Most of them are still connected with the old community driver and <10 with the new LIFX Integration
Today LIFX lights are no longer working in Hubitat.
Some facts about my setup
I updated to the new version last night. It's possibly related
LIFX Lights work from the LIFX app.
All Lamps are on same VLAN as Hubitat. I have not done any network changes recently
I have Unifi Dream Machine Pro and a unifi Switch. Have rebooted them both a few times.
Other integrations like the bond bridge integration are working
In the logs see the message that I see when plugs are closed (Error occured with UDP message: SocketTimeoutException: Receive timed out)
In the Official LIFX integration, I yesterday saw all devices there, but earlier today I saw nono devices in either the installed or the add sections. What I see now varies on the tests I do.
Some things that I tried
I tried restoring to previous OS versions and previous restore files but nothing happens
I tried restoring on a new/blank hub (ordered backup that just arrived) and still not working
Using the old LIFX Master Drivers I have Cleared Cache and selected discover all, and see only 6 lights out of ~100.
I did a soft Reset of the Hub, and in the LIFX Integration I see no Lights. Will Dive deeper into testing why this happens now.
--- I factory reset a bulb added it to the same VLAN on LIFX app and it still doesn't show in hubitat
Open Hypothesis
[Currently Investigating] It seems that Hubitat is not reaching LIFX. Could it be a change(there was no update) in the Router? Maybe it banned the IP or something?
Closed Hypothesis
Hubitat & Lifx use a different email account. I don't think that's it, but I will test if I find nothing else. Hubitat does not use LIFX account
I am kinda out of ideas on what to do. I usually defaulted to factory reset at this point - but this won't work as the backup hubitat is not working either.
Is anyone else experiencing anything similar or can think of a solution?
Probably not much help as I added my first LIFX bulb yesterday with Integration App using HPM, but mine is working fine as of this minute. I'm sure others with more LIFX experience will help.
Currently not having any probs with the native integraton. Have you reserved ip's for all your bulbs? Since they work through the lifx app, check your ip's there vs what is on HE... If all is good there, try shutting down the hub, unplugging it and plugging it back in (do this at the wall, not the hub).
Lastly if that doesn't work, go to settings>>backup and restore. Click the download button and download your backup to your pc. (this will clean your database up if there is corruption.) Then go to yourhubip:8081 and do a soft reset. When it reboots, restore from the file you backed up to your pc. This will ensure your hub is clean. See if one of those does it.
Just to confirm, for the official LIFX integration, your LIFX bulbs are on the same sub-network as your Hubitat hub, correct? IP address changes don't matter for the official integration ... but for discovery, they have to be on the same network.
Also, to be sure, reboot your router and if your Hubitat is on a network switch, reboot that as well. If it is on a switch, is it a managed or unmanaged switch?
Correct - all Lamps are on the same VLAN as Hubitat.
Have rebooted both the Hubitat (shut down, disconnected power cable, and re-connected)
I have Unifi Dream Machine Pro and a unifi Switch. Have rebooted them both a few times.
Here is a new very interesting fact. Using the old LIFX Master Drivers I have Cleared Cache and selected discover all, and see only 6 lights out of ~100.
HE doesn't go into your lifx account at all, it scans the local network. You clicked Refresh under the lifx integration app? If so try factory resetting a bulb that is not showing and see if it rescans for you. (also use the lifx app to make sure all your bulb firmware is up to date) Perhaps @bcopeland can chime in...
So I reset my Router to the backup 2 days ago and everything is working.
I found no evidence of update - nor have I changed anything so the most likely scenario is that there was a rule based/algorithmic/ai banning of communication from the router
Thank you so much everyone for the help in troubleshooting
