[SOLVED] Hampton Bay Zigbee Fan Controller Driver Refresh Issue

:disappointed_relieved:

How exactly is this reset accompished? I am having issues resetting two of my HB Fan Controllers.

This is how I did it.

  1. Start with the power to the device off.
  2. Put hub in pairing mode.
  3. Turn it on for 3 second then off for 3 seconds. Repeat this 5 times.
  4. Light will flash 3 times to indicate that the fan reset.
  5. Hub should discover the device successfully.

You shouldn't need to turn on/off 5 times...at least I don't with my controllers.

I just turn off the power wait 10 seconds, put hub in pairing mode and turn the power back on. My lights blink within 20 seconds and the controllers re-pair themselves.

Then unfortunately, as you mentioned, you need to toggle the child devices option so they reconnect to the parent controller with it's new device id.

Are you saying if with only turn off the power once for 10 seconds they will pair when the power is back? Maybe this is the problem that my friend has with her fan controller, is not working at all.

Not for the initial pairing. When I lose power, sometimes the fan controllers lose their connections to the hub. The steps I outlined help to restore the connection to the hub. I have 4 of these controllers and have been using them for about a year and a half. This process has worked for me almost ever time both in ST and HE.

Thanks for the info, I bet that's my friend problem, she tried resetting the breakers too, so probably it just need the repair you mentioned.

I have an issue I remove the Hampton Bay Fan Controller from my Hubitat Hub and turn off the breaker for about A minute or so and reset the controller to add it to the Hubitat Hub number 2 but I had no luck and when back to Hub one and hit Zigbee and it pair right away? Can someone explain the correct procedure to remove the Hampton Bay Controller from one hub so that I can put it on another hub? I thought that I factory reset the controller but I don't think I did? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you factory reset the device the light should blink I believe 3 times. To perform this you turn the power on for 3 seconds then off for 3 seconds <<<repeat that 5 times finishing on the on position. The light should blink if successful. I used the stop watch part on my cell phone to make sure the timing was right between on/off.

The "process" I would do is remove the device from hub 1, factory reset the device, then include to hub 2
After it's reset it should pair to either zigbee hub.

I did that for about 10 times over a two hour period and no luck? Thanks I will try again this weekend Thanks for the tip.

Do you have a Zigbee repeater (in the same room as the fan) paired with the new hub already? These HBFC’s really need a decent zigbee repeater to work well.

I do have a few zigbee repeater in the room but not pair with the new hub. I thought about that and will do that this weekend before I try to pair again with new hub. Thanks.
